Fallout 4 was just released this past week but it looks like a popular mod is already causing some major league controversy. Texas resident and gamer, Richie Branson, created a mod to add David Ortiz and Red Sox jersey's to the game which is set in an apocalyptic version of Boston. Many of Boston's famous locations are seen in throughout the game and one would imagine that there home baseball team's jersey would have been a relic that survived the fictional end of the world but according to the Bostonglobe, the MLB is viewing this as an act of copyright infringement. It looks like Branson won't push if it comes to shove but hopefully gamer's will get a more aunthentic Boston experience while they run through the post-apocalytic wasteland.

Good news for PS4 fans! The game developer behind the highly successful Uncharted series as well as Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter have stated that they hope to add a few more titles to the Playstation roster before the cycle ends. Community strategist Aryne Meyer, stated to Finder "I mean I have no doubt – I don’t know what the timelines are – but we have at least one, maybe two games left in the console generation, maybe more. Clearly we can release a game really late in a console generation and do well, right?" This, of course, leads to speculation of continuation the successful Last of Us series or possibly even a new IP all together. Either way, we're sure in store for a treat if Naughty Dog is willing to get us one or two more games! You can read the interview here.

Whether or not he will be permanent has yet to be seen. Either way, its nice to have the Nintendo Direct back but it'll be an emotional one. Get ready for it when it debuts 2 p.m. Pacific/5 p.m. Eastern time.

Tomorrow is the big day for Fallout fans, as the latest in the series, Fallout 4, is set to hit store shelves and online retailers. (Click here to see images of whats inside) This weekend marks the release of the highly anticipated 24th bond film, Spectre, that's already off to a spectacular start oversees, but can it top the billion dollar grossing Skyfall that came before it? (MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD) To start off, the opening sequence has gained a lot of praise from fans and critics alike and I can confirm, it's nothing short of fantastic. While most of the action sequences in the film are over the top and action packed, the "bond" formula is heavy in a story that, well, isn't terribly interesting. Christoph Waltz, who plays villain Ernst Blofeld, hardly gets the screen time necessary to actually be taken as a serious threat. For someone so ominous, his demise is dealt actually quite quickly. Instead, the story jumps between the aforementioned head of the Specter organization and a pawn in his plan, Max Denbigh played by Sherlock's Andrew Scott, a security obsessed man aimed at phasing out the 00 program and linking all major companies under one surveillance system. The biggest problem with his character is it's almost a little too obvious that he has an ulterior motive. Even from his first moment meeting Bond, he has that near "bond-cliché" villain that makes him a little too obviously set up. Dave Bautista take the role of the silent hitman, Mr. Hinx, who shares an amazing fight scene with bond midway through the film but is quickly disposed of as well. Even Léa Sedoux's character, Dr. Madeline Swan, was a bit rushed in her falling for Bond, which is too be expected, but slightly disappointing seeing as Spectre billed itself as hiring the older bond girl to date in Monica Belluci, who we expected to see more from but sadly, her screen time is extremely short. While this movie doesn't surpass Skyfall, it's still a great action title despite the filming in Mexico controversy, multiple interviews given by Daniel Craig over the past few weeks, and the lack luster reaction for the new theme sung by Grammy award winning British crooner, Sam Smith, making the press tour less than fun. Will we see more of Daniel Craig as James Bond in the future is the real question but until then, make sure you go see Spectre for the awesome action sequences and that Bond charm.
Game to movie adaptation are a few and far between well executed experience but director, Duncan Jones, has been teasing us for years that he's made a "far above average" fantasy action film and with a series as dense as Warcraft, he certainly has a lot to play with. Take a look at the first official trailer for next summer Warcraft movie and get excited to dive into the World of original Warcraft. |
