After a successful launch, Titan fall might be branching out when its sequel his next gen consoles. After being rumored by IGN, one of todays earliest and strongest rumors is that Titan fall 2 is in it's planning stages and will be avaiablable for the ps4. More on this as details come.
Lead of Microsoft Phil Spector has also added that in addition to game exclusives this year, Xbox will be the first to get DLC content! I'm feeling a bit like Noctis, picture above, today. News has surfaced via an interview with Famitsu that we're not only not seeing any new footage of Final Fantasy 15, but also Kingdom Hears 3, two of the biggest titles since they were confirmed for next gen consoles at last years E3. This is especially disappointing considering the long delayed Final Fantasy Versus, which later became Final Fantasy 15, was first confirmed in 2006. Chances are, we won't see it this year which basically means this game might be release 9 years after it's initial announcement. More to come on these titles when the time is right, otherwise, look forward to more gaming news and coverage during E3!
Dropping the Kinect for certain models of Xbox One might end up being better for both consumers and game creators in the long run. Phil Spector confirmed on twitter that the new version of the console will give the developers more GPU power out of the Xbox one since 10% of the Xbox ones graphics were solely reserved for the Kinect device. Hopefully this 10% can bring it up to par with the PS4's graphic output.
The new head of Microsoft, Phil Spector, has a lot of new things coming for long Xbox One and Xbox 360 gamers this june. On top of a cheaper, Kicnet-less, version of the Xbox one, their "Games With Gold," promotion will also be debuting on Xbox One and offereing three free games for the Xbox 360 instead of the normal two. The premise for the promotion is simple, on the 1st and 16th of each month, two titles of older games have been made avaiable to download on your console if you have an Xbox live gold account. Some of the titles in the past have been games like Dead Island, Saints Row: The Third, the first Gears of War Halo 3 and plenty of other great Xbox titles. Starting in June, the 2 titles for the Xbox one and 3 for Xbox 360 are
Xbox One Max: The Curse of Brotherhood. This quirky and side scrolling platformer has you playing as Max, a character who's wish puts his brother in the hands of the evil Mustacho. You'll navigate your way, armed with a magic marker, through puzzles and dynamic challenges trying to get him back. Halo: Spartan Assault. If you're a fan of other popular RTS (real time strategy titles) like Blizzards StarCraft or the Conquest series, then this is a game for you. Halo: Spartan Assault, essentially joins the world of RTS with the ground soldiers of the popular Halo franchise. You'll play through 25 missions as you fight against the onslaught of the covenant. Xbox 360 Dark Souls: For the first part of the month, for Xbox 360 Gold Members, Dark Souls, predecessor to one of the toughest titles and the first one is no walk in the park either. The action RPG received critical acclaim with it's combination of tough gameplay and mythology. It's sequel, Dark Souls 2, was just release in March of this year. Be prepared to die if you pick this title. Charlie Murder: During the second half, from the 16th on, the 1-4 player Charlie Murder will have gamers rocking out and fighting off hordes of the undead. There's a lot of blood and a lot of action in the side-scroller and its a great title to play with friends or even alone. Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition: Street Fighter is one of the most well known series in gaming and Street Fighter 4 was an incredible mix of graphics and tight controls. The arcade version offers all of the online features of the original game, such as online tournaments or team battle and even adds a few characters, bringing the full roster to 39. This title will serve as the One year "Games with Gold," bonus title and be released after the 16th as well. If you have either consoles and a Gold membership, make sure you pick up your free games this June! Destiny, Bungies newest title and rumored most expensive game of all time, is now available for pre-order which comes with beta access that will begin in July. While it will be available on both PS 3, PS 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles, the beta will hit the Playstation network first. If you're not already sold on this highly anticipated shooter, check out this game play video to see just how spectacular this open world title aims to be.
We have no had the Xbox One on store shelves for a year and Microsoft has had a hard time struggling with profits. The lack of console exclusive games also hurts its sales along with the hefty 500$ price, 100$ more than the Sony PS4. So, when Xbox announced that it would drop the Kinect unit and release the console as is for 400$, I expected a lot more people to be pleased, but that doesn't seem to be the case. On top of that, that leaves a lot of gaming developers who may or may not prioritize the kinect features for their up coming titles. For the games out now, the games that you will not be able to play without a Kinect are, Kinect Sports Rival, Just Dance 2014, Xbox fitness, Zumba Fitness World Play and Fighter Within, There will, without a doubt, more titles coming in the future that non-kinect owners will miss out on as well. A good handful of the games that are currently available on the 360 and Xbox One make use of certain features but will not be un-playable without the Kinect sensor. There is also no price released for purchasing a solo Kinect 2 unit at this time which means it might only be available with a console for awhile. Microsofts decision to include the upgrade to a piece of hardware that was lackluster in performance ultimately hurt their sales. Personally, I strongly prefer having a controller than using my hands to select things on the screen. The technology is great but we're still a few years out from seeing it perfected. The Xbox One console without the Kinect 2.0 will be in stores and on on-line retailers for 400$ on June 9th, 2014.
For those of you that have not heard, there is going to be a lot of Halo coming our way in the next two years. With the recently announced Halo 5: Guardians, we're also seeing a handful of Halo related projects. 343 studios has partnered with Aliens and Promethus director, Ridley Scott, to create a "digital featurette" which will most likely be delivered online or through Xbox Live. The current reports are that star Mike Colter, star of the hit tv shows The Good Wife and The Following, will be playing the lead. The feature will follow an original story line set in the universe of halo and not be centered around Master Chief. While there isn't a date for the Ridly Scott collaboration yet, director Steven Spielberg will also helm his own project with Microsoft along with Showtime that will debut in the fall of 2015, around when Halo:5 Guardians will be released to the public. There is also another rumor circulating that the previous Halo games, Halo 1 through 4 will all get a HD remake for the Xbox One. Since around 2004, there has been talk and rumors of the possibility of a Halo film. Although. this is not a big screen feature, it is exciting to see some developments into film projects. Look forward to move Halo news come E3 as well as fall 2015 for the TV series and Halo 5: Guardians.
The wait is finally over, the long speculated sequel to the long time popular Microsoft franchise, the Halo series, has finally been given confirmation and a name with Halo 5: Guardians. As made in an announcement on the 343 Studios blog site, the game will launch 2015 and continue this legendary quest with Master Chief. Along side a Steven Spielberg Halo television project, we'll be hearing, and hopefully seeing, more about this game June 9th at E3! Very exciting news!
